Position Summary:
The Senior Warehouse Associate (SWA) must be a team oriented individual capable of working in a fast paced, dynamic environment. A SWA's duties include being able to independently work all aspects/colors of the factory equipment to sort products efficiently. The SWA will be responsible for the opening and/or closing of the warehouse. As well as assisting the Donated Goods Manager with the daily needs of the warehouse.
Essential Functions:
- Use forklift to transport bales and capsacks to their correct locations in the warehouse and stack them appropriately
- Use a forklift to remove pallets from the back of the trucks during the unloading process.
- Use forklift to transport pallets and gayloads to correct location in the warehouse and stack them appropriately
- Be able to move the 20’ box trucks to the dock for unloading and return the truck to the lot when unloaded.
- Prepare daily plan based on the Direction from Donated Goods Manager
- Hold the morning meeting.
- Responsible for filing end of day reports.
- Responsible for closing the warehouse for the day.
- Properly unloading donations from multiple trucks per day.
- Create bales throughout the day.
- Assist in maintaining warehouse inventory and organizing in a manner that best assists the overall operation.
- Work effectively with customer service representatives, leadership, and donors in a team environment.
- Maintain a customer-focused perspective in all activities initiated to ensure that company needs are successfully met.
- Properly unloading donations from multiple trucks per day.
- Perform job duties accurately so that other personnel and departments, and ultimately customers receive correct information and/or product.
- Adhere to safety policies and procedures, and all policies and procedures in the employee handbook to ensure safety for self and fellow employees and to ensure behavior is appropriate in the workplace.
- Load trailers and containers with clothing bales, housewares and other products, including handling all needed documentation and reporting to management.
- Assist in leading warehouse associates to meet overall department and company metrics.
- Develop an understanding of operation processes and best practices through day to day communication with the Warehouse Supervisor and other members of leadership.
- Closes and secures the warehouse for the day as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education Requirements and Qualifications:
- Must be able to work on your feet up to ten hours a day
- Forklift Certification Required - Certification Card must be presented.
- Maintain Forklift Certification is Required
- Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures for UPS/FedEx and other carriers.
- Heavy lifting.
- Excellent communication, organizational and multitasking skills.
- Requires good attendance and punctuality.
- Clean motor vehicle report
- Must have experience driving 16 ft box trucks or larger.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Strong communication, organizational, and multi-tasking skills.
- Ability to work effectively independently and as part of a team.
- Must be able to work on one’s feet up to ten hours a day.
- Must be able to lift products (boxes, bags, etc.) weighing up to 60 pounds.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $20.00 to $23.00 per hour
