Welcome to Hearts Open Home Care Agency, and thank you for considering employment with us. We are a home care agency based in Carmel, IN, but please note that travelling to Indianapolis, or Carmel is not required.
All interviews are conducted virtually (online through really or Teams), and we arrange in-home Meet and Greets with the client and the potential caregiver prior to starting your assignment. Training is provided either within the client’s home or virtually to ensure your comfort and readiness.
Requirements:
CPR license, and TB Test required. (Will give 1 week to obtain)

- The ability to lift 50lbs and perform physical tasks without health limitations.
- Able to keep a consistent schedule.

Job Overview
As a Direct Support Professional, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for individuals with disabilities or special needs. Duties
- Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication management.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the overall well-being of clients.
- Observe and document client behavior and progress, reporting any significant changes to the appropriate personnel.
- Ensure that resident rights are respected and upheld at all times.
- Implement individualized care plans tailored to meet the specific needs of each client.
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect client confidentiality.
- Engage clients in recreational activities and social interactions to promote engagement and reduce isolation.
- Provide specialized care for individuals with conditions such as dementia, ensuring safety and comfort.
Requirements
- Previous experience in direct support or caregiving roles is preferred.
- Knowledge of patient care practices, including CPR certification.
- Familiarity with resident rights and HIPAA regulations is essential.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a team.
- Compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others improve their quality of life.
- Ability to cook nutritious meals tailored to dietary needs is an advantage.
- Must be able to perform patient observation effectively, monitoring changes in health status or behavior.
