Travel Percentage: Up to 25%

Description
The activity specialist will have specialized skills and expertise in one or more disciplines or content to lead and implement an activity such as arts, dance, STEM, literacy, SEL, nutrition, or organized sports. Regardless of discipline, activities are to be sequenced, skill-building, and engaging.
Activity specialists must be available to work Monday -- Friday 2-6 PM.
Must be able to work in Coney Island, Brooklyn
Qualifications
DUTIES:
- Assist in the development of age-appropriate activities in one or more discipline or content area
- Creating and implementing daily Activity Plans
- Provide direct supervision of youth activities
- Assist in maintaining daily attendance records for program participants
- Assist in the provision of basic counseling services as needed (peer mediation, self-control, restorative justice(practices), decision-making)
- Accompany youth on cultural and recreational field trips
- Assist in ensuring a safe environment for program participants
- Actively participate in all professional development sessions, supervision, and team meetings
- Adhere to agency policies and procedures
- Assume other duties as needed
REQUIREMENTS:
- High School diploma and two years experience working with youth or an Associate's degree in child development, recreation, or a related field.
- Must be able to work in Coney Island, Brooklyn.
- Activity specialists must be available to work Monday -- Friday 2-6 PM.
