HeartShare is seeking enthusiastic and responsible candidates to join the Youth Development and Community Programs Team. This position requires reliability, a positive attitude, and experience working with youth
Responsibilities
- The Evening/Weekend Coordinator is a part-time position responsible for supporting the Program Director and the Cornerstone Leadership Team by supervising evening/weekend programming.
- The coordinator is responsible for facilitating and planning parent engagement and holiday events alongside the Cornerstone Leadership Team
- In addition to the responsibilities above, perform all other duties as assigned
- Uses positive approaches when handling difficult situations
- Avoids gossip and negative discussions
- Remains flexible and adapts to change
- Serves as a role model for program participants and staff
- Abides by the dress code and professionally conduct oneself at all times
- Participates in in-service training and on-site workshops as required for professional growth and development
- Attends external training and workshops at the direction of management
- Represents the organization both within and outside of the work environment in a manner that promotes the mission, vision and values of the agency
- Personally, adheres to organizational mission, vision and values, in addition to all other agency policies and procedures
- Plans and implements daily instructional curriculum
- Maintains accurate activity and daily attendance records of all program participants.
- Assists in providing support to New Activity Specialists
- Maintains accurate activity and daily attendance records of all program participants
- Maintains positive communication with parents and staff
- Assists in monitoring other Cornerstone activities as required by the Program Director
- Assists in the provision of basic counseling services as needed (peer mediation, self-control, decision-making)
- Accompanies youth on cultural and recreational field trips
- Assumes other duties as needed
Qualifications
- HSVS is seeking enthusiastic and responsible candidates to join the Youth Development and Community Programs Team
- This position requires reliability, a positive attitude, and experience working with youth
- High School Diploma and equivalent
- Two plus years experience working with youth
- Passionate, driven, willingness to work with children, youth, and families
- Ability to manage events and work collaboratively with the Cornerstone Leadership Team
- Ability to support New Activity Specialist
