Description
Under the supervision of the Licensed Psychologist of Wellness, the Article 16 Psychology Extern will be responsible for conducting psychological and psychosocial assessments, testing, scoring and report writing, and providing therapeutic interventions for children and adults diagnosed with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
- Conduct psychological assessments (e.g., cognitive, adaptive, and behavioral evaluations) to support diagnostic clarification, service eligibility, and treatment planning.
- Provide individual and group therapy using evidence-based interventions tailored to individuals with I/DD.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with Article 16 and agency policies.
- Engage in supervision and didactic training opportunities to enhance clinical skills and knowledge.
- Collaborate with family members, caregivers, and service providers to ensure a holistic approach to client care.
- Work with AVP to determine division outcomes measures and monitor progress toward meeting identified outcomes.
- Identify opportunities for improvement in the current operating environment.
- Represent HeartShare and its administration, both within and outside the organization, in a manner that promotes the Mission, Vision, Values and Goals of the agency.
- Remain sensitive to and ensure staff responsiveness to cultural differences in HeartShare’s service population and staff.
- Undertake any additional tasks and initiatives as assigned by the AVP and/or Senior Vice President of Operations.
Qualifications
Master's degree or equivalent
Experience: Enrolled in a Doctoral Level program in Psychology or related fields
