What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Technician position at Heartsworth Nursing & Rehabilitation?
Applicant will be responsible for performing routine and emergency repairs on building systems, equipment, and facilities, ensuring the safety and comfort of residents by maintaining a well-functioning environment, which includes tasks like plumbing repairs, electrical troubleshooting, minor carpentry, and general upkeep while adhering to all safety and compliance regulations; often requiring on-call availability for urgent issues. Key responsibilities may include:
- Preventative maintenance: Regularly inspecting and servicing heating, cooling, ventilation systems, plumbing fixtures, electrical outlets, fire safety equipment, and other facility systems to prevent malfunctions.
- General repairs: Addressing issues like leaky faucets, broken light switches, faulty appliances, minor drywall repairs, door repairs, and basic carpentry work.
- Emergency response: Responding promptly to urgent maintenance issues like power outages, water leaks and addressing resident concerns related to their living space.
- Grounds maintenance: Maintaining the exterior of the facility and general cleanliness of outdoor areas.
- Documentation: Keeping detailed records of completed maintenance tasks, parts used, and any identified issues requiring further attention.
- Compliance with regulations: Adhering to local building codes, safety standards, and healthcare facility guidelines.
- Communication: Collaborating with nursing staff, administrators, and residents to understand maintenance needs and address concerns effectively.
