The Role:
Heartwood Community School is seeking a dedicated and highly qualified Facilities Coordinator to play a critical role in maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and functionality of our school environment. Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Operations Fellow is responsible for ensuring that all aspects of school upkeep meet the highest standards, contributing to a welcoming and well-maintained learning environment for students, staff, and families.
The ideal candidate is a proactive problem solver who takes pride in their work and understands the impact of a well-kept school environment on student success. This person will be a valued member of our school community, ensuring that our spaces remain safe, clean, and fully operational each day.
Responsibilities:
1. School Upkeep and Cleanliness
- Ensure the highest standards of cleanliness in restrooms, classrooms, dining areas, common spaces, and administrative offices, including restocking necessary supplies.
- Maintain exterior areas such as playgrounds, parking lots, and school grounds to provide a clean and welcoming environment.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations regarding cleaning materials, chemical data sheets, and sanitation procedures.
2. Maintenance and Repairs
- Perform routine maintenance tasks such as changing light bulbs, assembling school furniture, performing touch-up painting, and repairing locks and fixtures.
- Identify and report larger maintenance needs to the Director of Operations and assist as needed in addressing minor repair concerns.
3. Operational Support and Team Collaboration
- Work closely with school staff to ensure facilities are ready for daily use and special events.
- Respond to immediate operational needs to support smooth school functions.
- Maintain an inventory of janitorial and maintenance supplies, ensuring that all necessary materials are stocked and available.

Compensation:
We are seeking 2.5 FTE (full-time equivalent) individuals for this role.
The hours for the full-time position will be either 6am-3pm or 12-7pm.
The hours for the part-time position will be 2-7pm.
The full-time salary for this role is $80,000. The part-time salary for this role is $50,000.
