Preschool Early Literacy Educator
Jubilee Co-Operative Preschool, the sister-school of HCS, is on the hunt for a multi-faceted educator who leads with a spirited personality. This person will co-teach with others and drive learning in the Early Literacy classroom in our preschool. You're the expert when it comes to Literacy and celebrate the efforts of early mark making just as much as you understand when it's time to offer up a quiet break as you pull a friend onto your lap, slowly turning the pages of a book. You know that imperfections are to be embraced as little ones begin to form letters and your storytelling keeps children enthralled. You'll help our children build vocabulary, boost confidence and blossom in the social, play based environment of our school.
Ideally, you're a seasoned early childhood educator whose curiosity drives your continued research in the field. We're looking for an individual to inspire our group of mostly low income, minority, play based learners to find their voice by communicating through movement, music, role playing, storytelling, and as authors creating their own story.
Our brand-new campus located in the South Carolina Lowcountry between Beaufort and Bluffton, is tucked into the woods. You'll spend at least two hours each morning outside enjoying the temperate weather with other classes. Once inside, our students rotate through content specific classrooms over the course of the week. As the Early Literacy Expert, you'll share a home-based class with two other teachers and over the course of the week see all the students in the school (one class per day). Our preschool follows a traditional school calendar with holidays, breaks and vacation time built into the calendar but that's as traditional as it gets around here. This isn't a daycare or your run of the mill preschool. We are serious about early learning and always looking for ways to improve.
