Position Overview

Heartwood Montessori School is seeking a Lunch, Nap, and Extended Day Assistant to support our children’s midday and afternoon transitions. This role is essential in maintaining a peaceful, safe, and engaging environment during lunch, rest time, and extended day activities.

This position is ideal for individuals passionate about early childhood education and Montessori philosophy who enjoy working in a collaborative and child-centered setting.

Schedule & Compensation

• Hours: Monday–Friday, 11:30 AM – 5:30 PM
• Compensation: Competitive hourly wage based on experience

Responsibilities

• Support children during lunch, nap/rest time, and extended day activities
• Assist with smooth transitions between daily routines
• Supervise children at all times to ensure safety and well-being
• Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting learning environment
• Reinforce Montessori principles and classroom expectations
• Attend monthly staff meetings and school events as needed
• Communicate any concerns to the Admin In a timely manner

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will:

• Have experience working in a Montessori environment (required)
• Demonstrate professionalism, reliability, and a willingness to learn
• Qualify as an Assistant or Lead is ideal under (background check required)
• Have or be willing to obtain CPR & First Aid certification within 60 days (school reimburses training costs)
• Be knowledgeable about Montessori terminology and methods
