Assistant Project Manager
Heath Steel is currently looking for an Assistant Project Manager to assist the project manager and superintendent in all aspects of the management of construction projects throughout the construction process. This includes budgeting, scheduling and coordination and communication with vendors, trade partners, and other internal team members and stakeholders.

Responsibilities:
- Assists superintendent(s) with technical side of managing projects in the field including RFI creation, schedule updates, finding solutions to field issues
- Responsible for procuring component materials to help provide solutions to field issues
- Responsible for tracking and spending against project budgets to ensure projects come in on or under budget and updating the project forecast reports
- Responsible for creating and sending monthly billings to the customer and reviewing and coding all job-related invoices
- Responsible for pricing change orders, ensuring they are reviewed, and sending to general contractor and maintaining the change order log for each project
- Works with PM and superintendent to set schedule timelines with subs and suppliers
- Making site visits to assist superintendent with onsite activities as needed
- Owns the submittal process including requesting, reviewing, assembling, submitting, and tracking all submittals, including critically analyzing shop drawings and confirming they meet the scope of the project and match what should be provided by the contract documents and maintaining the submittal log
- Responsible for creating Purchase Orders and Subcontracts, ensuring they are reviewed, sent to the subs, returned, and executed
- Responsible for managing, tracking, and documenting closeouts
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, and 3 years of commercial construction experience. OR 5 years as either an assistant superintendent and/or project engineer or higher.
- Proficient computer skills including Microsoft suite, Bluebeam, ERP Systems, Procore, Raken
- Strong time management, multi-tasking, and organizational skills
- Ability to communicate and present information clearly and precisely to build lasting relationships
- Strong analytical skills to maintain a high level of detail and precision while managing multiple projects with time constraints.
