This is an onsite position based at the Widow Jane Distillery in Red Hook, Brooklyn NY.
Schedule : Friday 3pm-11pm, Saturday-Sunday 1pm-11pm
What the Role Is
The Widow Jane Barback will be responsible for maintaining tasting room cleanliness and appearance. The Barback will support Bartenders and Front of House staff and be responsible for providing efficient beverage service and maintaining the bar’s cleanliness and overall appearance. Botanica at Widow Jane proudly serves as the distillery’s Cocktail Bar and Whiskey Tasting Room.
How You Will Spend Your Time?
- Provide an exceptional guest experience and maintain a positive guest / customer relation at all times
- Prepare fresh garnishes, juices, syrups, and other cocktail components
- Assist with bussing tables and resetting the bar room
- Plate bar snack offerings
- Monitor usage and restock bar with spirits, beer, and wine as needed
- Maintain highest health standards, sanitation and cleanliness in the beverage / bar area to meet local, state and government guidelines.
- Ensure all service items such as menus, etc. are cleaned, in good condition and replaced as required
- Strictly abide by state liquor regulations, particularly those prohibiting service to minors and driving while under the influence
- Maintain bar cleanliness by cleaning glasses, putting away items and organizing kitchen fridge daily, changing / taking out garbage, maintaining clean restroom

While performing duties of job, employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; use hands and fingers to handle, or feel objects, and use of computer; reach with hands and arms. Employee must occasionally lift and / or move up to 20 pounds.

In New York, the expected compensation range for this role is $21.00 per hour plus tips. Actual starting pay may differ based on non-discriminatory factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, experience, skills, specialty, and education.
