Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated HCA or NAC to provide essential support to individuals in need of assistance with daily living activities. This role involves working closely with clients, their families, and healthcare professionals to deliver personalized care tailored to each individual's needs.
Duties
- Assist clients with personal care tasks, including bathing, grooming, and dressing.
- Follow care plans that respect resident rights and preferences.
- Prepare nutritious meals according to dietary requirements and preferences.
- Monitor patients' health status, including vital signs and overall well-being.
- Provide companionship and engage clients in meaningful activities to promote mental stimulation.
- Assist with mobility and transfers, including heavy lifting when necessary. Must be able to safely lift up to 50 lbs.
- Support individuals with disabilities by providing tailored assistance in daily activities.
- Offer specialized care for clients with dementia or other cognitive impairments.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients, ensuring adherence to health and safety protocols.
- Will need to do laundry and light housekeeping.
Skills
- Strong understanding of care plans and the ability to follow them accurately.
- Knowledge of resident rights within adult family home environments.
- Experience in health care or similar settings is preferred.
- Ability to perform patient monitoring effectively, recognizing changes in condition promptly.
- Proficient in meal preparation that meets nutritional needs.
- Compassionate approach towards caregiving, demonstrating empathy and patience.
- Capability to assist with heavy lifting as required for client mobility support.
- Familiarity with working with individuals with disabilities is an asset.
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with clients, families, and healthcare teams.
