Responsibilities
- Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans that align with educational standards.
- Facilitate engaging classroom activities that promote learning through play and exploration.
- Assess student progress through standardized testing and provide feedback to parents and guardians.
- Manage classroom behavior effectively to create a conducive learning environment.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance teaching strategies and share best practices.
- Provide individualized support for students requiring early intervention or additional tutoring.
- Ensure the safety and welfare of all children in your care, including during physical education activities.
- Maintain open communication with parents regarding student progress and any concerns related to child welfare.
Requirements
- High School Diploma
- Experience working with children in preschool or childcare settings is highly desirable and 45 DCF hours.
- Knowledge of behavior management techniques and early intervention strategies.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with students, parents, and staff.
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of students, including those requiring special attention.
- Familiarity with physical education principles is a plus.
- A genuine passion for teaching and nurturing young minds is essential for success in this role.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $13.00 - $15.00 per hour
Expected hours: 25 – 40 per week
