Purpose of the job:

The Coordinator of Human Resources (HR) is responsible for supporting and assisting in the management of HR functions across the organization. This role is integral in ensuring the effective implementation of HR policies, recruitment, staff development, compliance, and employee relations. The Coordinator will work closely with the HR Director to develop and implement strategies that enhance the organization’s workforce and foster a positive work environment. The position will involve overseeing HR projects, providing guidance to department leaders, ensuring adherence to legal and regulatory requirements, maintaining and updating the electronic HR system, and promoting a culture of inclusivity and employee engagement.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Assist in managing daily HR operations, including recruitment, onboarding, training, employee relations, and performance management.
  • Support the development and implementation of HR policies, procedures, and programs in alignment with organizational goals and regulatory standards.
  • Participate in the recruitment process, including job postings, candidate screening, and interviews, ensuring the attraction of high quality talent.
  • Assist in developing and delivering training programs to staff on HR-related topics such as compliance, diversity, employee relations, and performance management.
  • Work with leadership teams to address employee relations issues, mediate conflicts, and provide advice on HR best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Maintain and update HR documentation, including employee records, performance appraisals, and compliance reports.
  • Help with the administration of benefits, compensation, and other employee programs.
  • Coordinate and track employee performance evaluations, promotions, disciplinary actions, and trainings.
  • Assist in planning and organizing employee engagement initiatives, wellness programs, and other workplace activities.
  • Support the HR director with strategic HR planning and initiatives.
  • Participate in HR-related meetings, committees and projects as assigned.
  • Report all incidents to their immediate supervisor.
  • Ability to travel to and from fairs, events, programs, departments as necessary.
  • Other duties as assigned by the HR Director or organizational leadership.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in human resources, with at least 1 year in a leadership or supervisory role.
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills
  • Strong knowledge of HR practices, employment law, and regulations
  • Eager to learn, hone, and adapt skills required to succeed in this role
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with diverse teams.
  • Strong leadership, judgement, decision-making, team building, and organization skills.
  • Experience with HR software and systems (HRIS).
  • Proven ability to handle confidential information and maintain discretion.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong problem solving skills and ability to handle sensitive employee issues.
  • Flexible and adaptable to changing organizational needs.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $65,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
