Job Overview
The Parts Specialist plays a crucial role in our service operations, ensuring that all parts and supplies are available to meet customer needs efficiently. The ideal candidate will possess strong sales skills, a keen eye for inventory control, and customer service. This position requires excellent communication abilities and the capability to manage cash handling processes effectively. Parts Specialist is responsible for picking, packing, shipping, receiving, and storing materials. The Parts Specialist will oversee the Warehouse Operations ensuring company has an adequate supply of equipment and parts with the objective of increasing sales and profitability. The Parts Specialist will liaise with the Service and Engine & Parts Sales team, Field Technicians, and intern/external customers. The ideal candidate must have strong customer service skills while serving as a company brand ambassador. The role is critical to leading the company forward in providing quality retail parts and materials while maintaining competitive quality targets.
Responsibilities
- Assist customers in identifying and purchasing the correct parts for their needs.
- Maintain accurate inventory control by monitoring stock levels, placing orders, and organizing parts displays.
- Process sales transactions using a cash register and handle cash with precision.
- Collaborate with the service department to ensure timely availability of parts for repairs and services.
- Liaise with Operations Manager and technicians to order parts for engine and equipment repairs.
- Communicate effectively with customers to understand their requirements and provide exceptional service.
- Utilize multilingual skills to assist diverse customer bases when necessary.
- Perform regular audits of inventory to ensure accuracy and minimize discrepancies.
- Must be familiar with all phases of warehouse operations and retail parts selling
- Daily housekeeping of warehouse/retail parts counter and service department parts counter.
- Pick parts/components from stock for production builds
- Perform weekly inventory cycle counts
- Perform annual parts inventory.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- High School Education
- Demonstrated Forklift experience
- Strong knowledge of Diesel engines and their parts.
- Familiarity with warehouse operations
- Must possess a valid driver’s license, be insurable by the company, and can operate a company vehicle in accordance with all state and federal laws, company policies, and guidelines.
