We are a heavy civil and substation construction company primarily working in Northern California, the Central Valley, and the Bay Area.
30 - $40 Depending on Experience

We are looking for a skilled and experienced Heavy Equipment and Truck Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of heavy equipment and commercial trucks, ensuring that all vehicles are in optimal operational condition. This position requires a hands-on professional with a strong understanding of mechanical systems, excellent troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Responsibilities :
Perform regular maintenance, preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on heavy equipment (such as excavators, skid steer loaders, and dozers) and commercial trucks (including but not limited to dump trucks, tractor trailers, and flatbeds).
Troubleshoot and diagnose, repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
Inspect and test equipment after repairs to ensure proper functionality.
Maintain accurate records of repairs, parts used, and labor hours.
Ensure all safety standards are met and followed during repair and maintenance work.
Replace worn or damaged parts, including engines, transmissions, brakes, tires, and electrical components.
Work with manufacturers' service manuals and technical documents to complete repairs and maintenance according to specifications.
Collaborate with supervisor regarding work progress, diagnosis of problems, plan and repair issues encountered.
Maintain a clean, organized work environment and keep tools and equipment in good working order.
Qualifications :
High school diploma or equivalent; formal training in heavy equipment mechanics or diesel mechanics is a plus.
Minimum of 5 years of experience working on heavy equipment and trucks.
Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
Proficient with diagnostic tools and equipment.
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and service records.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Valid driver’s license (CDL is preferred).
Welding experience.
Must be able to lift heavy equipment parts and tools.
Strong commitment to safety and following all safety protocols.
Working Conditions :
Primarily outdoors and in a workshop environment.
Must be comfortable working in varying weather conditions and around heavy machinery.
May be required to work overtime or on weekends depending on workload.
