Quality Control Inspector

JOB SUMMARY:The Quality Control Inspector is responsible for performing inspections, checks and tests for quality control for the manufacturing of products.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Performs duties and responsibilities that are in compliance with Hebeler’s Process Map for Quality Control;
• Approves incoming materials by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; rejecting and returning unacceptable materials.
• Approves in-process production by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; communicating required adjustments to production supervisor.
• Endorses finished products by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; returning products for re-work; confirming re-work.
• Documents inspection results by completing reports and logs; summarizing re-work and waste; inputting data into quality database.
• Utilizes gages, templates and other manufacturing aids to ensure that all product meets the established specifications for reliability and workmanship.
• Keeps measurement equipment operating by following operating instructions; calling for repairs.
• Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations.
• Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications.

This job requires close vision and the ability to adjust focus with or without corrective lenses.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• High School Diploma, or equivalent required;
• Two (2) year college degree in related field and/or equivalent job experience in a manufacturing environment preferred;
• Minimum two (2) to five (5) years’ experience in quality control preferred.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
• Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job;
• Proficient understanding of weights and measurements;
• Math skills including, but not limited to, addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions and decimals;
• Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook; as well as Adobe Acrobat and Windows;
• Able to understand carry out detailed written or oral instructions;
• Able to manage a number of projects at one time with frequent interruptions;
• Able to function and concentrate in a busy, noisy environment;
