JOB SUMMARY:The Quality Control Inspector is responsible for performing inspections, checks and tests for quality control for the manufacturing of products.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Performs duties and responsibilities that are in compliance with Hebeler’s Process Map for Quality Control;
- Approves incoming materials by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; rejecting and returning unacceptable materials.
- Approves in-process production by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; communicating required adjustments to production supervisor.
- Endorses finished products by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; returning products for re-work; confirming re-work.
- Documents inspection results by completing reports and logs; summarizing re-work and waste; inputting data into quality database.
- Utilizes gages, templates and other manufacturing aids to ensure that all product meets the established specifications for reliability and workmanship.
- Keeps measurement equipment operating by following operating instructions; calling for repairs.
- Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations.
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High School Diploma, or equivalent required;
- Two (2) year college degree in related field and/or equivalent job experience in a manufacturing environment preferred;
- Minimum two (2) to five (5) years’ experience in quality control preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Maintain a customer-focused perspective in all activities initiated to ensure that customer needs are successfully met;
- Develop professional and process expertise to provide improved assistance to internal and external customers;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job;
- Proficient understanding of weights and measurements;
- Math skills including, but not limited to, addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions and decimals;
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook; as well as Adobe Acrobat and Windows;
- Able to understand carry out detailed written or oral instructions;
- Able to manage a number of projects at one time with frequent interruptions;
- Able to function and concentrate in a busy, noisy environment;
