What are the responsibilities and job description for the Arborist/Sprayer position at Heber City?
Heber City is looking for an arborist/sprayer to provide arboricultural care for the cemetery, public parks, trails, and designated properties. The Parks & Cemetery Division of the Public Works Department is hiring for a full-time, year-round Arborist/Sprayer to work under the direction of the Foreman. This position plants, prunes, and maintains trees, grasses, flowers, weed elimination, and City parks and cemetery landscapes.
The essential functions of the job include, but are not limited to the maintenance of many trees and shrubs; watering, pruning, weeding, removing dead leaves, branches, limbs, and debris; water, seed, spray, sweep, planting, anchor, and fertilize trees, plants, shrubs, flowers; set up safe job sites; evaluate potentially hazardous or invasive trees; assess monetary damage and loss; make determinations on tree health, and provide recommendations to the Tree Committee and the Parks & Cemetery Director; may assist in performing routine building or grounds maintenance work clean-up; provide fiscally responsible solutions, and other duties as assigned.
This position requires a Utah Pesticide Applicator License within six months of hire and a certified Arborist credential within one year or hire.
Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Arboriculture, Horticulture, Landscape Architecture, or a related field.
