Job Summary:
The High School Football Defensive Coordinator is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing the defensive strategies and tactics for the football program. This includes coaching defensive players, preparing game plans, analyzing opponent offenses, and ensuring the defensive unit performs at a high level. The Defensive Coordinator works closely with the Head Coach and serves in a leadership role on the coaching staff to build a cohesive and competitive football program.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Oversee the implementation and progression of the defense for the football program grades 7-12.
- Develop defensive game plans for the varsity football team, help guide the 7th grade and junior high coordinators in the development of their game plans.
- Organize and lead defensive practice and film sessions
- Assist with off-season training and conditioning
- Other duties as assigned by the head football coach, athletic director, or building principal
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in education or related field (preferred).- Valid Arkansas teaching license.
- Defensive Coordinator coaching experience (preferred).
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Commitment to strength and conditioning as a key component of player development.
- Ability to work extended hours, including evenings and weekends.
