POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the supervision of the Manager of Activities and Dining Services and the Executive Chef, Wait Staff is responsible for providing a variety of services in the dining room including waiting on assigned tables, taking orders and setting and bussing tables. Is also responsible to properly understand the menu items well enough to answer diners' questions. Must have a working knowledge of all kosher procedures.
Qualifications
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Stands for long periods of time throughout the workday.
May be subject to cuts, bruises, falls and extremes in temperatures. May also bend, lift, carry and push items.
Subject to working in hot work environments. Required handling of hot food items.
PERSONNEL SPECIFICATIONS:
- Must possess good communication skills.
- Must be a detailed oriented person and be able to perform duties with great accuracy each day.
- Must have full understanding of dining room operational procedures and etiquette.
- Should have a minimum of 1 year working in a dining room setting, with a kosher background preferred.
- Must have the ability to complete work in a timely manner and meet all deadlines.
- Must have the ability to relate appropriately with staff, members and families and have a positive customer service approach to meeting various needs.
- The ability to read and write and communicate in an effective manner.
- Ability to answer phone calls and communicate requests as needed.
