Overview

Responsible for performing essential upkeep tasks throughout the campus. In this position, you will be responsible for a wide variety of activities such as repairs and cleaning to ensure that our facilities are both tidy and functional. Being reliable and self-motivated with a keen eye for detail is essential in this job, as the ideal candidate will have significant work experience and solid technical knowledge. You should have the manual dexterity and physical stamina necessary for this work.

Responsibilities

    • Perform minor fixes, such as repairing broken locks, damage to walls, etc.
    • Check control panels and electrical wiring to identify issues.
    • Maintain grounds, including garden and yard upkeep, trimming, edging, mowing lawn, collecting trash, etc.
    • Perform necessary cleaning activities, such as dusting, mopping, trash removal, etc.
    • Complete regular maintenance tasks, such as replacing light bulbs.
    • All general cleaning duties to maintain the building.
    • Sweeping, mopping, trash removal, stripping and buffing of floors, carpet cleaning, vacuuming, trash removal, dusting, cleaning of walls, clean trash pails, window washing, etc.
    • Moving of furniture and set up of furniture for events and maintenance of areas.
    • All general yard duties to maintain the grounds and sidewalks.
    • Required to report to work after snowstorms to assist in snow removal from sidewalks and walkways.
    • Report to facilities Director issues needing attention.

     

Qualifications

  • Basic working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems
  • Experience working with tools, including hand and electrical tools
  • Ability to read and utilize technical manuals and drawings

  • Ability to work independently and prioritize the work load
  • Ability to problem solve
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Able to multi-task well in a fast paced environment

  

Physical Demands

 

  • Extensive time standing, walking, bending, reaching and lifting
  • Ability to lift and move furniture boxes etc.
  • Ability to work in the cold and perform snow removal
  • Ability to rake mow weed and do other yard upkeep
