Title: Middle School Principal
Classification: Exempt
Reports to: Upper School Principal
Overview
This is a full time, eleven (11) month position. The Middle School Counselor will provide counseling and instruction to our middle school students, working under the oversight of our High School Counselor and other administration. The Counselor is expected to assist Hebron Christian Academy in achieving its mission. A commitment to excellence and unparalleled customer service is needed and is the expectation of all Hebron employees.

Qualifications
- Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university in school counseling
- Meets the Georgia Department of Education state certification requirements for school counseling and retains a current and valid certification or licensure as a professional school counselor
- Familiarity with Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), The ASCA National Model: A Framework for School Counseling Programs, ASCA National Standards, ASCA School Counselor Competencies and ASCA School Counselor Performance Standards

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Provides leadership in developing comprehensive counseling plans as well as implementing and evaluating the programs.
- Attends meetings with parents and staff to assist in facilitating appropriate counseling needs and services for individual students.
- Assists/prepares budgets, coordinates with other departments or agencies to assure maximum services, and maintains records/reports/inventories in accordance with local/state/federal policies.
- Collaborates with student services support staff to ensure needs of all students are being met.
- Shares information about programs with various stakeholders, serves as a liaison between the school system and other agencies.
- Gathers and analyzes program evaluation data.
- Participates in regional and state meetings pertaining to school counseling and support services.
- Shares information with staff regarding best practices in school counseling, instructional issues, and state and federal requirements regarding services.
- Consults with staff and administrators regarding counseling issues, as necessary.
- Stays informed of state and federal laws and procedures.
- Assists with scheduling in conjunction with college counselors, as necessary.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
