POSITION TITLE: Vice President - Project Manager

Scope of Responsibility: The Project Manager is responsible for planning, executing, and managing a project from start to finish. This typically involves setting project goals, creating a timeline, assigning tasks to team members, and overseeing the entire process to ensure the project is completed on time and within budget. This position will ensure that the Bank’s lines of business select and utilize appropriate business systems and are provided appropriate metrics, analytics, and reporting programs to optimize operational performance, thereby enabling continuous improvements in planning, efficiency, products, services, marketing, and other internal controls. The Project Manager will partner with key internal stakeholders to ensure technology is properly aligned with back-office and front-office business processes and objectives. This may include appropriate application administration as well as providing support to other bank application owners. In addition to these responsibilities, a project manager also needs to have strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills. They must be able to effectively delegate tasks, manage multiple priorities, and adapt to changing circumstances in a fast-paced environment. A project manager also needs to have a good understanding of project management methodologies and tools and experience in managing cross-functional teams and complex projects.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Developing, implementing and updating the bank’s disaster recovery and continuity plans against various kinds of disasters or security breaches that could affect bank data, hardware, and software.
- In charge of managing disaster recovery teams, setting objectives and guidelines, collecting performance tests and risk assessments, and developing regular reports. Responsible for liaising with external parties and training new members of the workforce as well as bank- wide annual training while implementing bank standards and policies.
- Completing risk assessments, as required by bank policy, for all new products and services in conjunction with the initiating department/project executive owner. Facilitating approval of such risk assessments (i.e. – Board approval and/or executive officer approval).
- Enhancing and maintaining the vendor management program for all third-party bank relationships, including pre-engagement vendor due diligence and on-going vendor due diligence, as required by bank policy.
- Facilitating and maintaining relationships between the bank and its vendors/partners, negotiating contract terms for senior management approval, creating standards for vendors, and finding the best available vendors.
- Maintaining and enhancing policies relevant to the position. Including seeking board approval as needed (annually at a minimum).
- Creating and managing project timelines and schedules.
- Executing, coordinating and scheduling projects in conjunction with project team members and resources, as needed.
- Managing project budgets and resources.
- Identifying and managing project risks.
- Monitoring and reporting on project progress to stakeholders and management.
- Establishing and maintaining relationships with clients, vendors, and other stakeholders.
- Leading and motivating project team members to ensure that project goals are met.
- Ensuring that project deliverables meet quality standards and client expectations.
- Conducting post-project evaluations and lessons learned sessions to identify areas for improvement.
- As a liaison between IT and the bank’s business units/departments, work closely with colleagues to bring the two together to drive improvement in quality, efficiencies, application usage, and overall bank profitability.
- Identify business challenges and opportunities for improvement and solve them using process improvement, enabling technology, and data analysis to aid management’s strategic or tactical decision-making.
- Conceptualize, develop, and continuously optimize business system solutions, processes, and analytical solutions for all business units and executive management to enable data- driven decision-making.
- Gather requirements for system selections or improvements, which may involve internal and/or external resources, developers, or vendors.
- As assigned, assume administrative management of appropriate applications and ensure features and functionalities are known, communicated, and highly utilized by the various business units and departments.
- Provide technical and business support to other application owners to drive adoption and increase usability.
- Provide analysis, process/functionality design, implementation, and ongoing support for business enabling systems.
- Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Technology or Project Management curriculum or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum of three years’ experience optimizing business processes and facilitating change management.
- Advanced knowledge of business processes and data analysis and the ability to construct complex data queries and collaborate with colleagues.
