What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mill Maintenance Planner position at Hecla Mining Company?
As our Mill Maintenance Planner, you are responsible for all routine data entry and withdrawal associated with maintenance to keep our production going and our profitability up. Every day you will work at a mine on a remote island about 18 miles outside of Juneau, Alaska. You will be in charge of maintaining equipment statistics, preparing maintenance reports, and procure warehouse stock in conjunction with maintenance needs. You will be called upon to work cooperatively with others as part of a team, and encourage collaboration, trust, and openness among employees. To thrive in this role, you will ensure high quality data is collected, and that the integrity of that data is kept intact. We're on a remote island; you must know how to work independently, as well as identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.

- Training first. Every hire is provided MSHA training in the first 4 days on the job. We also provide department-level training on not just what to do, but safety, as well.
- You have extensive knowledge in fixed maintenance, and excellent attention to detail. You will utilize these skills while utilizing a Computerized Maintenance Management Information System.
- You have maintenance trade school experience and have worked in planning and scheduling for fixed equipment.
- You will make decisions based on maintenance part life spans', and understand the impact of cost, quality, and availability on the market.
- You will refine the overall maintenance cycle by implementing a process-based maintenance program and you will monitor and review standards and performance guidelines
- Safety is important. Every piece of equipment and each work area must be inspected before work starts. You will promote and personally observe safety procedures.
- You will be a part of and help build a team you can rely on; a team that will have your back.
