Job Description:
We are looking for an experienced VB Developer to join our team in Chantilly, VA. This is a hybrid role, offering the flexibility to work both remotely and on-site. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Visual Basic (VB) development and a passion for building and maintaining high-quality software applications. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver solutions that meet business needs and drive innovation.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and maintain applications using Visual Basic (VB) and VB.NET.
Collaborate with stakeholders to gather, analyze, and translate business requirements into technical solutions.
Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code.
Debug and resolve software defects and performance issues.
Perform unit testing, integration testing, and support user acceptance testing (UAT).
Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and adherence to best practices.
Support and enhance existing legacy systems, ensuring scalability and reliability.
Work with databases (e.g., SQL Server) to integrate and manage data within applications.
Stay updated with emerging technologies and recommend improvements to existing systems.
Qualifications:
Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
3 years of hands-on experience in VB and VB.NET development.
Proficiency in the .NET framework and object-oriented programming (OOP) principles.
Strong experience with SQL and database design (e.g., SQL Server).
Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git, TFS).
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a hybrid work environment.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with ASP.NET for web application development.
Knowledge of C# or other .NET languages.
Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
Experience with legacy system modernization and migration projects.
Understanding of front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) is a plus.
