Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Structural Steel Project Coordinator to join our team at Hedy Holmes Staffing Services. As an Assistant Project Manager, you will be responsible for providing support on planning, coordination, and direction for pre-construction and construction management activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with all document control as required by the project manager and project engineer.
- Facilitate and maintain working partnerships with customers, general contractors, and field employees.
- Provide support on planning, coordination, and direction for pre-construction and construction management activities.
- Aid in monitoring of contractors' activities to track start dates for projects.
- Aid in monitoring of field activities to ensure schedule is being achieved.
- Help review structural drawings for constructability and Standard details for field installation of material.
- Aid in review of Approval Drawings to ensure detailers incorporated Standard details and project specific detailing notes.
- Participate in project meetings and assist with issuing meeting minutes for the administration and tracking of relevant information and project statuses.
Work Experience:
We are looking for candidates with 5-10 years of related experience in the structural steel industry or equivalent experience as a Project Coordinator/Engineer or Assistant Project Manager.
Education/Training:
A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in Construction Management, Structural/Civil Engineering, or Business may substitute for 3 years of the required experience.
Specialized Knowledge:
Candidates should have general knowledge of fabrication and erection standards and procedures, AISC standards, and AWS codes.
