What are the responsibilities and job description for the Journeyman Sheet Metal Installer position at HEFFLER CONTRACTING GROUP?
Heffler Contracting Group an established Federal General Contractor seeking full-time Journeyman sheet metal Candidates must be state certified or licensed and experienced in the sheet metal construction industry, knowledge of Defense industry construction practices preferred.
Projects (Design Build & Design Bid-Build, MACC, SATOC, MATOC) range from fully defined conventional Design-Bid-Build (approximately 25%) to conceptual alternative estimating (75%) such as Design-Build. Projects (JOC, SABER, Task Order Type Programs) range from $10K to $10M. All Federal construction projects. Travel required, Davis Bacon prevailing wage. Heffler has clients at Federal Facilities in California, Arizona, Nevada, Utah, Washington.
Relevant proven experience and skills in SHEET METAL construction industry, attention to detail, good organizational and multitasking skills, knowledge of current electrical codes and safety standards.
Responsibilities
· Install, test, trouble shoot and repair commercial and industrial HVAC systems in a safe, productive, and professional manner.
· Supply of personnel hand tools
· Use industry related hand tools and power tools.
· Installation of all types of HVAC and duct work materials
· Install package units / split systems.
· Read blueprints / INSTALL PER PLAN
· Must have 5 years’ experience or have ABC CARD OR JOUNEYMAN CARD
· Communicate effectively with Foremen and crew members.
· Maintain the workflow schedule to ensure all productivity objectives are met.
· Demonstrate the highest level of professionalism and courtesy when interacting with colleagues, customers, and vendors.
· Adhere to all safety policies and procedures.
Requirements
· Must hold a current Journeyman certificate.
· Must pass a federal military background check.
· California REAL ID
· Must be able to travel 100%.
· Reliable transportation
· Must supply personnel hand tools.
· Knowledge of current Codes
· Knowledge all current OSHA safety standards
· Knowledge of installation of sheet metal
· Working knowledge of construction documents.
· Experience helping with the management of a project, crew, and material.
· Lift 50 lbs. from the ground and pull 50 lbs. of force.
· Fully squat, stoop or kneel while wearing a 25 lb. tool belt.
· Maintain a standing position for extended periods of time while performing repetitive actions.
