Assist the Hotel Departments in their purchasing needs, while monitoring hotel spending.
Responsibilities
- Communicate with Director Food and Beverage, Executive Chef and Sous Chefs and order all F and B products according to hotel needs and specifications. Forecast operational needs and schedule deliveries of all food and beverage items.
- Maintains record and safe handling of hotel and guest packages shipped and received.
- Reviews requisitions and records movement of products throughout facilities.
- Coordinates with Chefs to selects products for purchase by testing, observing, or examining items.
- Reserch method of procurement such as direct purchase or big review with departmentt head.
- Monitor the grades and quality of products received to ensure that they meet the hotel's established standards.
- Determine the food and beverage requirements for all catering menus, and orders according to guarantee of the menus.
- Maintains procurement records such as items or services prucased, historical costs, proof of delivery, product quality or performance, and inventories.
- Inverntory maintenance including pricing, count & accurancy
- Discusses defective or unacceptable goods or services with inspection or quality control peronnel, users vendors, and others to determine source of trouble and take corrective action.
- Approves invoices for payment and review with Ex Chef.
- Develops new supply sources and maintaining professional relationships with existing vendors.
- Checks requisitions for appropriate approval and account numbers.
- Works closely with receiving departement to ensure proper supplies arrived.
- Traces delinquent arrivals from Purchase Orders.
- Follows environmental and satety regulations and acts in compliance with US laws.
- Complies with safety and corporate guidelines on business ethics.
- Maintain and update par levels per business levels.
- Understand and follow forecast guidelines
- FCLG must be updated and maintain.
- Responsible for the security of all inventory items.
- Must able to work extended period of time walking refrigerators and walking freezers
- Participate in all hotel meetings including weekly staff, Food and Beverage, and daily menu meeting.
- Supervise purchasing staff, including interviewing prospective associates for the purchasing department, training, coaching, counseling and discipline, to ensure the smooth operation of all aspects of the purchasing department, such as ordering, receiving, issuing and storing.
- Obtain bids from vendors, using the telephone and FAX machines, according to the specifications set by the department heads. Determine the best possible price for the desired items, and place orders for all non-food items. Schedule deliveries of non-food items to meet the operational needs outlined by the department heads.
- Maintain HEI Hotels and Resorts purchasing programs and arrangements. Ensure adherence to all corporate purchasing policies and procedures such as requisition process.
- Personally check and ensure appropriate levels of inventories are maintained to minimize waste and maximize ratio turnover.
- Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis.
- Perform any other job related duties as assigned.
- The salaray range is $55,000- $60,000
