JOB SUMMARY
The Communications Coordinator is responsible for developing and executing Heidelberg Distributing Company’s internal communications strategies. This role ensures alignment across all messaging platforms, streamlines internal messaging and fosters consistent communication to a diverse group of Heidelberg associates. S/He will create engaging content, collaborate with key stakeholders throughout the company and support leadership in delivering clear and consistent messaging across all departments. Key areas of responsibility include Email, MS Teams and SMS Text messaging, Monthly Newsletter, creation of basic videos, and periodic website updates.
Requirements:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Internal Associate Communications:
- Maintain Heidelberg brand standards across all communication methods and utilize consistent language, design and strategy.
- Develop, manage and execute the company’s monthly digital newsletter, ensuring alignment with the company culture and priorities.
- Create and deploy internal messages via email, Microsoft Teams, SMS Text, Zoom Digital Screens, Print, etc. to clearly convey messaging for Engagement initiatives, policy and procedure updates, job opportunities, promotions, retirements, wellness and benefits and beyond.
- Manage and optimize communication workflows, including intake process for internal messaging requests.
Content Creation:
- Create engaging, brand-aligned content, including graphics, videos and copy.
- Develop basic animations from concepts, scripts, storyboards, PowerPoint slides, photos and video.
- Edit and enhance video footage with basic editing tools.
- Design content for various formats of media, both print and digital.
Measure and Analyze:
- Stay up to-date with industry trends and best practices in communications.
- Monitor and analyze communication effectiveness; share results and adopt a mindset of continuous improvement.
Website and Team Portal:
- Manager periodic WordPress website and team portal updates, including basic HTML/CSS modifications as needed.
- Work with Web Agency partner for occasional website enhancements, troubleshoot and custom developments.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams:
- Work closely with Director of Creative Services, Engagement Coordinator, Human Resources and Stakeholders from all departments within the organization.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
- 2-4 Years of experience in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations or related field.
- Experience in content creation, digital marketing and/or graphic design is a plus.
- Experience with email management platforms, Microsoft Office 365 and design tools (Adobe Suite).
- Familiarity with website management (WordPress).
- Ability to optimize images and videos for web and social media.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects and tight deadlines.
- Excellent copywriting and content development skills. Ability to craft clear, engaging messaging for diverse audiences.
- Creativity in crafting engaging visual content.
- Ability to prioritize and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong collaboration skills with cross-functional teams, including leadership.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
