Description
Heidtman Steel Products is searching for a Quality Assurance (QA) Representative located in the Midwest, near the Granite City, IL Heidtman facility, to service the Midwestern US regions. The QA Rep will be responsible for customer support and communications including investigating and resolving customer claims; internal quality issues and part evaluations; and assisting with purchasing and production.
- Providing metallurgical and technical service to our customers and act as the liaison between the Company and the customer
- Investigating customer complaints and/or rejections to determine the root cause and develop corrective actions
- Providing technical support to sales, operations, resource planning, and purchasing
- Conducting new part investigations and works with other departments to complete the contract review process required to successfully launch new business.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Technical degree and/or experience in steel manufacturing.
- Quality Management System experience.
- Internal and external audit experience.
- Proficient in quality tools, mathematics, and statistics.
- Skilled in problem solving and developing robust preventive actions.
- Some overnight travel may be required, depending on customer base being supplied.
- Metallography experience is a plus
