Certified Medical Assistant needed for a Obstetrics & Gynecology practice in Natrona Heights, PA.
This is a front office MA position that will be part time- with flexibilty on days worked. We need coverage on Mondays and Thursdays, but you have the ability to choose your other days and hours to work. Applicant has the oppertunity to assist with back office procedures if desired.
Certified Medical Assistant job responsibilities: Help patients and providers by providing information, services, and assistance. Other duties include front desk capabilities; securing medical records; maintaining office and medical supply inventory; performing preventive maintenance to keep equipment operating; and maintaining a clean office environment.
Certified Medical Assistant job duties:
- Front desk responsibilities; including checking in and discharging patients at office visits, receiving patient phone calls, scheduling patient visits, faxing records, scanning records into Electronic Medical Records.
- Verify patient information by interviewing patient; recording a medical history; confirming purpose of visit, medication list, allergies, in the patient's’ Electronic Medical Records.
- Prepare patients for examination by performing preliminary physical test; taking blood pressure, weight and height; reporting patient history summary.
- Assist with minor office procedures; getting supplies ready for procedures and administering injections.
- Secure patient information and maintain patient confidence by completing and safeguarding medical records; keep patient information confidential.
- Counsel patient by transmitting physicians’ orders and questions.
- Maintain safe, secure, and healthy work environment by establishing and following standards and procedures; comply with legal regulations.
- Keep office and job supplies ready by inventory stock.
- Keep equipment operating by following operating instructions.
- Update job knowledge as practice grows.
- Serve and protect the practice by adhering to professional standards, policies and procedures, federal, state, and local requirements.
Certified Medical Assistant Skills and Qualifications: Prior experience in gynecology practices is preferred, BUT not required. New graduates with excellent school performances may be considered. Must have excellent verbal communication skills; typing skills, supply management; infection control; create a safe and effective work environment, organizational skills; professionalism, customer focus, confidentiality; excellent bedside manner; and a team player.
