PAY RATE HOURS:
8:30am – 5:00pm
The Activity Coordinator Provides activity coordination for residents with moderate, severe or profound intellectual disabilities and other developmental disabilities.
** Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen. **
Job duties include, but are not limited to:
Must be awake and alert at all times while working.- Coordinates and participates in resident field trips and leisure activities.
- Plans and participates in indoor/outdoor activities including social and group interaction activities.
- Coordinates staff and resident parties including special functions.
- Prepares a monthly calendar of activities.
- Maintains database for resident activities and field trips providing relevant information for annual IP's and 90-day reviews for residents. May run reports to support department.
- Participates in team meetings.
- Works directly with residents on skill developments.
- Functions as active team member.
- Assists Volunteer Coordinator with resident related activities.
- Participates in initial, required and ongoing staff development trainings and in-services.
Requirements:
- Must be able to lift/carry up to 50 pounds regularly and push individuals who weigh up to 200 pounds in wheelchairs.
- Must be able to regularly use hands to finger, handle, or feel; stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk and hear.
- Must be able to stay awake for the entire shift.
- Must have a High School Diploma or GED
- Must have at least one year experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities
- Must be 21 year of age or older
- Must have a valid CPR/First aid Certification
- Must have less than 5 points on valid driver’s license
- Must have the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of supervisors, staff, parents, and the general public.
