Summary:
The Direct Support Professional (DSP) provides hands-on care for male and female residents with severe/profound developmental disabilities. This includes meeting physical, educational, and therapeutic needs, implementing individual skill development plans, and documenting progress. The DSP also serves as an active member of the care team.
Essential Duties:
- Provide personal care (bathing, grooming, dressing) for residents.
- Assist with meal preparation and dining in accordance with individual plans.
- Ensure cleanliness and maintenance of the home and resident equipment.
- Communicate resident concerns and updates to the team.
- Participate in developing and implementing person-centered plans.
- Complete incident reports and ensure residents' safety and well-being.
- Assist with community outings, appointments, and transportation.
- Participate in ongoing training and adhere to all policies and procedures.
Requirements:
- Must be able to lift/carry up to 50 pounds regularly and push individuals who weigh up to 200 pounds in wheelchairs.
- Must be able to regularly use hands to finger, handle, or feel; stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk and hear.
- Must be able to stay awake for the entire shift.
- Must have a High School Diploma or GED
PRN Status:
This is a PRN (as needed) position based on the needs of the facility.
PAY RATE HOURS:
(Including shift differentials weekend differential)
1ST SHIFT (7a-3p)
$19.25 - $21.25
2ND SHIFT (3p-11p)
$21.25- $23.25
