As a Lead Direct Support Professional, you are responsible for acting in a lead capacity on the unity; you will provide support and assistance to the unit manager and act as a Direct Support Professional when required.
Job duties include, but are not limited to:
- Oversee the work of DCA’s on the unit and provide guidance on tasks
- Train DCA’s on work procedures and individual resident programs
- Provide input to Unit Manager regarding DCA performance
- Ensure a safe living environment for residents
- Ensure that IP goals are carried out safely and correctly
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of daily attendance. Record resident and staff events and incidents as they occur
- Implement and administer policies and procedures
- Function as member of response team to immediately investigate all incident reports
- Function as a DCA on the unit as needed
- Follow all Heinzerling policies and procedures
Requirements:
- Must be able to lift/carry up to 50 pounds regularly and push individuals who weigh up to 200 pounds in wheelchairs.
- Must be able to regularly use hands to finger, handle, or feel; stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk and hear.
- Must be able to stay awake for the entire shift.
- Must have a High School Diploma or GED
- Must be able to communicate effectively both written and in oral form
