What are the responsibilities and job description for the Line- Prep position at HEIRLOOM MARKET?
Heirloom Market in Wethersfield, CT is looking to hire a full-time line and prep cook to join our team. The market serves breakfast and lunch from 7am-5pm. We have also recently added dinner service from 5-8pm Thursday through Saturday. We work efficiently in a small, but expanding cafe kitchen. Flexibility in working opening and closing shifts is a must. The ideal candidate is kind, has a love for food, can work with efficiency, takes pride in making good food, as well as keeping their station clean and stocked. We have a small, but very knowledgeable and driven BOH staff, and are looking to find one more cook/prep cook who truly cares about making good food, and contributing to creating something special every day. Line Cook Responsibilities include:
- Prepare sandwiches & salads to order in a timely and organized fashion
- Keeping station stocked, clean & organized throughout the shift
- Maintain health and safety guidelines
- Efficiently work with team members towards to provide exception product and service to guests
- Set up of station (AM/Opening shifts), Breakdown and cleaning of station (Lunch/Closing shifts)
- Filling out prep-list
Prep Cook Responsibilities include:
- Assisting chefs with preparation of menu items, including proteins, vegetables, soups, pickling, fermenting.
- Cleaning and organization of kitchen & prep area.
- Organization of prep list.
- Preparing back-up mise en place for use on the cooking station.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in a kitchen in a similar capacity
- Attention to detail
- Ability to multitask effectively and work with efficiency
- Good communication skills, including ability to take direction
