DevOps Engineer

Job Summary:

Heitmeyer has banking client that has a need within their Technology Infrastructure team for a DevOps Engineer who can create, develop and implement solutions to address infrastructure and security requirements across the environment. The role is open for full remote; however, must be based in the following states: Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri, Oklahoma. .

Job Description:

The DevOps Engineer will manage all aspects of the DevOps environment while being able to identify issues, design and develop solutions and maintain security standards across platforms. Role will support infrastructure automation, deployment pipelines and cloud operations using DevOps tools that include GitLab, Terraform, HashiCorp Vault and Kubernetes.

Top Required Skills:

• Must have extensive experience – target 5 years – as DevOps Engineer with experience in supporting infrastructure automation, deployment pipelines and cloud operations.
• Solid background in DevOps tools and practices including Terraform, GitLab, HashiCorp Vault and Kubernetes.
• Experience working within Cloud environment – GCP preferred but not required

• Configuration management – Terraform, Kubernetes
• Strong scripting skills in Bash, Python or Go.
• Familiarity with information security frameworks including cloud policy, configuration and security management tools.
• Strong communication with ability to work closely with other team members and stakeholders.
• Independent resource who will own all development and monitoring.
  
  
  

Nice-to-have:

• Familiarity with Google Platform – both from computing and networking perspective.
• Background within financial services would be beneficial but not required.
  
  
  

Top Responsibilities:

• Design, implement and maintain infrastructure as a code (IaC) using Terraform.
• Manage and optimize CI/CD pipelines in GitlLab for automated software deployment.
• Administer HasiCorp Vault for secure secrets management and access control.
• Deploy, scale, and monitor applications using Kubernetes within Cloud environment.
• Support cloud infrastructure, preferably in GCP but AWS and Azure experience also valuable.
• Automate system processes to improve efficiency, scalability and security.
• Collaborate with developers and system engineers to enhance system reliability and operational efficiency.
• Troubleshoot infrastructure and deployment issues in production and non-production environments.
