About the Job:
As a Lab Technician on the NBS team at Helaina, you'll be providing essential support to research and development of our products. You will be responsible for contributing directly to Helaina's company milestones by performing experiments to assess parameters such as protein stability, digestibility, and immunogenicity. Extensive training in a variety of assays will be available within the team under the direction of the NBS Team Lead. Guidance through any assay development requirements or troubleshooting will be provided. This role will mainly support a routine workflow of protein preparation and product evaluation, along with data tracking and record keeping responsibilities. There will be exposure to a variety of workflows and scientific disciplines, as the NBS team supports several cross-functional initiatives.

What You'll Do:
- Provide technical support to R&D initiatives under the direction of the NBS Team Lead
- Learn key techniques and operate equipment commonly used in a laboratory environment
- Prepare media, buffers, and solutions for a variety of applications (digestion assays, immune assays)
- Perform assays/prep work/cell culture aseptically in a biological safety cabinet (BSC)
- Submit samples for a variety of applications (HPLC, SEC)
- Adhere to the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in effect
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized lab workspace
- Maintain up-to-date inventory tracking, and detailed electronic lab notebook entry submissions
- You have an undergraduate degree in the biological, physical sciences or engineering
- You have at least 1 year of experience in a research setting performing basic laboratory procedures
- You are organized and can follow established procedures
- You are detail oriented and can follow through with assignments from multiple sources
- You have a strong sense of maturity and judgment when handling and sharing confidential information
- Bonus points for proficiency in running SDS gels, Western Blots, or ELISAs
