Description

Works as part of the custodial team at Broad Street. May be required to also work at Brook Street and Denver Street on an as needed basis.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Works under general supervision of Maintenance supervisor.  Maintains cleanliness and upkeep of facility & grounds at our Broad St. location. Assures and maintains safety and adequate inventory. Ability to follow directions and work off of a daily checklist. Demonstrates respect for Center property and equipment. Promotes harmony and willingly assumes additional duties as assigned.  Ability to operate/request maintenance of industrial equipment. Physical job characteristics include but are not limited to moderate lifting (15 to 44 lb.), operation of cleaning equipment (mop, broom, vacuum cleaner, buffer), working while standing (throughout work shift), walking (throughout work shift), reaching (to reach areas to be cleaned above waist level).  Work site conditions include working indoors and outdoors.  HFC incorporates principles of trauma-informed care throughout the agency, emphasizing cultural sensitivity and a safe and respectful environment for all individuals served and staff.  All job descriptions include the responsibility to learn about and implement trauma-informed practices within the scope of work for the position. Reassignment is a condition of employment that may occur at the employer’s discretion.  Work location and hours could change based on program needs.

Qualifications

Education, Training, and Experience
Graduation from a standard high school or GED. Must have current drivers license and be insurable under Center insurance. Must pass all center mandated trainings to include van driving class.

• Ability to understand and/or relate verbal instructions, communicate in a courteous and effective fashion with co-workers, consumers and families, and the public.
• Ability to use a computer effectively. 
• The incumbent must display a customer service and safety orientation at all times.
• Ability to read and write.
• Ability to operate cleaning and mechanical equipment
