What are the responsibilities and job description for the LONG TERM SUBSTITUTE SPECIAL EDUCATION TEACHER position at Helen Keller Elementary School?
The Franklin Public Schools, a Prek-12 district, is seeking a skilled and experienced long term substitute special education teacher to serve at the Keller Elementary School. The teacher will work in a model of service delivery offering academic support and co-teaching in the general education classrooms combined with pull out specialized instruction for small groups and individuals. Students requiring assistance and support have mild to moderate disabilities.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Plan for the effective specialized instruction and intervention for students on IEPs within and outside the general education classroom;
Provide specialized reading instruction using a research based multi-sensory reading program
Administer formal diagnostic assessments and tests for students initially referred and for three-year reevaluations of caseload students;
Administer ongoing progress monitoring, strategic monitoring and benchmark systems;
Schedule, prepare for, and attend Team meetings for newly referred and caseload students;
Write comprehensive progress reports and IEPs
Collaborate with general education staff with respect to appropriate accommodations and modifications;
Provide ongoing positive communication with parents;
Collect and analyze student data against IEP goals
