What are the responsibilities and job description for the Child Mental Health Specialist position at Helen Ross McNabb Center?
The Helen Ross McNabb Center is seeking a qualified professional to fill the position of Loudon & Union County School Based Mental Health Liaison. This role requires a Master's degree in a human services field and at least two years of experience working with children with emotional or behavioral problems, or two years of experience with adolescent substance use/abuse prevention, or a combination of the two.
The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively within a team format to plan, implement, and evaluate successful interventions. Additionally, they should have experience leading groups and trainings, as well as course work in areas such as cultural diversity, human development, etiology and treatment of mental illness, alcohol and drug abuse, physical and sexual abuse, trauma, suicide and learning disorders.
As a member of our team, you will provide direct mental health services in the rural county school system, working closely with families and assisting in the development of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs). You will also conduct individual, family, and group counseling, as well as participate in IEP and other school-related meetings.
