What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mental Health Liaison for Schools position at Helen Ross McNabb Center?
We are seeking a qualified professional to fill the position of Mental Health Liaison for Schools. As a member of our team, you will provide direct mental health services in the rural county school system, working closely with families and assisting in the development of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).
The ideal candidate will possess a Master's degree in a human services field and at least two years of experience working with children with emotional or behavioral problems, or two years of experience with adolescent substance use/abuse prevention, or a combination of the two. They should also have experience leading groups and trainings, as well as course work in areas such as cultural diversity, human development, etiology and treatment of mental illness, alcohol and drug abuse, physical and sexual abuse, trauma, suicide and learning disorders.
Key Functions:
- Provide direct mental health services in the rural county school system
- Work closely with families and assist in the development of IEPs
- Conduct individual, family, and group counseling
- Participate in IEP and other school-related meetings
