The Mobile Crisis Master's Level Placement Specialist program today requires professionals who can work closely with clients experiencing psychiatric emergencies.
This position plays a crucial role in crisis intervention and follow-up care. The ideal candidate will have strong assessment and communication skills, as well as experience working with individuals with mental illness and co-occurring disorders.
Key responsibilities include:
- Completing face-to-face assessments to determine level of service needed
- Facilitating referrals to link clients with needed services
- Ensuring treatment is being rendered

Job Purpose/Summary
This position requires certification in verbal and physical de-escalation techniques, which may include bodily movements such as grasping, holding another person, going down on knees, running, and walking. Mandatory to stay awake and alert during shift.
Typical Working Conditions/Environment
This position is part of a team and will work closely with other staff members. Multiple service deliveries are available, including in-person assessments and telehealth. Clinician will ensure 24/7 coverage is provided despite any weather conditions or holidays that may arise. This position requires frequent community involvement and professionalism should be maintained at all times while on shift.
Job Duties/Responsibilities
1. Participates as an active member of the crisis team
- Begins and ends workday as scheduled and is accessible by cell phone when in the field
- Communicates with triage or team leader to determine priority of call if more than one call is pending
- Responds appropriately to all flags, emails, and phone calls
2. Completes documentation of client care in compliance with CARF and funder standards
- Completes all necessary documentation for each client before end of shift
- Clearly documents time of referrals and declines
3. Provides face to face crisis assessments 24/7/365 according to assigned schedule
- Provides direction to client and families in crisis
- Facilitates voluntary/involuntary placement for client or gives referral information to client

Qualifications - Mobile Crisis Master's Level Placement Specialist
Education: A Master's degree in a health-related field of counseling, psychology, social work, sociology, and experience working with individuals with mental illness and/or co-occurring diagnoses.
Experience/Knowledge: Must have course work and/or experience in the areas of cultural diversity, human development, etiology and treatment of mental illness, alcohol and drug abuse, physical and sexual abuse, suicide, and crisis intervention.
Physical Requirements: Lifting up to 50 lbs, pushing/pulling up to 150 lbs, handle with care certification, CPR and First Aid certification, valid driver's license, and ability to exercise sound judgment under pressure.
