Title: Bioprocessing Manufacturing Technician

Basic Function: The Bioprocessing Manufacturing Technician will work closely with the production team to understand the run plans and execute while complying with all Heliae’s safety standards. Reports to: Bioprocessing Manufacturing Manager
Primary Responsibilities and Duties may include but are not limited to:
- Monitor plant control systems and adjust as needed.
- Weigh chemicals and transfer algae for bioreactor inoculations.
- Take samples from bioreactors and utilize laboratory equipment for required tests.
- Monitor bioreactor parameters to maintain optimal conditions for algae growth.
- Initiate bioreactor harvest and adjust downstream processing equipment parameters to optimize recovery.
- Complete all steps listed in master batch records to produce the final Ag products, including temperature monitoring, testing, and addition of required chemicals.
- Bottle, package and prepare pallets and totes of product for shipment.
- Fulfill sales orders by prepping and staging product for shipment to customers.
- Utilize a forklift to load outgoing product shipments and unload raw materials.
- Assist in maintaining inventory of chemical, raw materials, and packaging supplies.
- Follow SOP for wastewater monitoring, testing and discharge.
- Troubleshoot equipment problems and assist with needed repairs.
- Maintain and promote a safe work environment.
- Ensure the worksite is clean, organized and is “24-hour Tour Ready”.
- Performing other duties as needed or directed by supervisor.
Qualifications:
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
- Basic understanding of plant processes.
- Ability to read and follow procedural documents.
- Willingness to work weekends, early mornings, and late evenings.
- The ability to operate:
- Computer

- The ability to:
- Walk a construction site
- Stand for extended periods of time.
- Occasionally (0-33%) lift or carry up to 50 lbs.
- Frequently (34%-66%) perform fine manipulations with hands and fingers.
