- Prepare, monitor, and deliver on new product plans.
- Ensure product deliverables meet quality, budget, and timeline expectations.
- Drive continuous efficiency improvements and assess new technology.
- Provide leadership and perform duties as needed for certification and compliance, and customer technical services for applications and warranty.
- Recruit, build and mentor a highly skilled Product Engineering Team.
- Provide leadership and perform duties as needed in product design and development, performance and reliability engineering, applications engineering, and test engineering.
- Prepare and execute Capital and Operating Expenditure Budgets for the Product Engineering Department.
- Create and monitor objective goals, and KPIs for the team.
- Presentation department goals and updates to the Management Team.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Chief Technology Officer or delegate.
Minimum Qualifications:
- M.S. in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or related field with eight (8) years of related experience and at least four (4) years of supervisory experience or an equivalent combination of education, experience and training.
- Direct experience in PV Solar engineering.
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment is considered an asset.
- Experience managing teams of highly skilled engineering managers and engineers.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with strong technical acumen and attention to detail.
- Proven record of developing new products, if in the solar industry, this would be considered an asset.
- Hands-on experience of solar module design, manufacturing, testing, and certification.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Hands-on experience in establishing and implementing quality, reliability, and performance metrics for solar cells, modules, and systems.
- Proven record of hiring and training highly skilled technical teams.
- Strong knowledge of solar industry trends, solar products, and solar systems.
- Highly skilled in office productivity tools, lab tools, and data analysis and reporting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
