What You Will Be Doing:
As an Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Engineer at Helion, you will play a key role in developing, implementing, and maintaining safety programs that ensure a safe and compliant workplace within our fabrication and manufacturing facilities. You will collaborate with technical teams to support and enhance Helion’s safety culture, ensuring alignment with industry regulations and best practices. Reporting onsite to our EHS Manager at our Everett, WA headquarters, you’ll work closely with operations and leadership teams to foster a proactive approach to workplace safety.

Annual Base Pay
$118,000 - $150,000 USD

What You Will Be Doing:
As an Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Engineer at Helion, you will play a key role in developing, implementing, and maintaining safety programs that ensure a safe and compliant workplace within our fabrication and manufacturing facilities. You Will:
- Support and Strengthen Helion's Safety Culture – Promote awareness and engagement in safety practices, assist in facilitating the Safety Committee, and drive continuous improvement in safety processes
- Ensure Compliance and Continuous Improvement – Conduct audits and inspections to identify safety risks and compliance gaps, develop corrective action plans, and support regulatory compliance with OSHA, hazardous materials management, contractor safety, and incident investigation
- Support the Development and Execution of Safety Programs – Assist job hazard analyses, high-risk work procedures, and materials handling processes while ensuring proper documentation and training compliance
- Monitor Workplace Safety and Provide Hands-on Support – Conduct routine site walkthroughs, assist in real-time problem-solving, and help maintain records related to hazardous materials storage, equipment maintenance, and training certifications
- 7 years of experience in EHS roles within a manufacturing or R&D environment
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations, safety policies, and risk management practices
- Experience conducting safety audits, incident investigations, and implementing corrective actions
- Ability to collaborate across teams and communicate effectively to promote a safety-first mindset
- Physically able to conduct inspections and carry equipment used for inspections
- Comfortable with prolonged periods of desk work and computer use
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds at a time
- Must be able to use all required PPE
- Capable of climbing stairs and ladders as needed
