Job Summary:
The assembler is responsible for assembling components, sub-assemblies, or complete units following blueprints, diagrams, and written instructions. This role ensures that products meet quality standards and specifications and is critical to the production line's efficiency and effectiveness.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Assemble Components: Follow detailed assembly instructions, processes, and procedures to build units or subassemblies.
Quality Assurance: Inspect parts and assemblies for quality, correct fit, and functionality; report any quality issues to supervisors.
Use of Tools and Equipment: Operate and maintain tools and equipment used in assembly, including power tools, hand tools, and measuring instruments.
Documentation: Complete production documentation and logs accurately to maintain records of assembly and output.
Maintain Safety Standards: Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment. Identify and report potential safety hazards.
Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve assembly problems by examining and correcting malfunctions and discrepancies.
Collaborate with Team: Work closely with other team members and departments to meet production goals and deadlines.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Reliability.
Basic understanding of mechanical systems and components.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity.
Good communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
Basic math skills and ability to measure accurately.
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Previous experience in a manufacturing or assembly role preferred but not required; on the job training provided.
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands and fingers, feel/reach with hands/arms, and talk to hear.
The employee frequently is required to sit and walk. The employee is occasionally required to bend and stop, push and pull, reach above shoulder level, kneel, squat, or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 70 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job to include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
