ACADEMIC COACH POSITION
Academic Coaches will work with students, parents, community and staff to promote Helix Charter High School’s Mission and Vision for all students. Academic Coaches are committed to social-emotional, personal and academic growth. They are also committed to providing an academic environment that promotes respect, student achievement and college readiness. The Academic Coaches are also committed to working collaboratively with teachers and GLTs to form teams that take collective responsibility to improve student achievement.
This job reports to the Academic Support Coordinator.
Essential Functions
Provide academic support to students in a classroom setting while ensuring a safe, positive, and productive learning environment.
Maintains files and records on students (e.g. daily attendance information, conduct and academic performance information, instructional materials, etc.) for the purpose of documenting and providing reliable information to Academic Support Coordinator and GLTs.
Arrive on time, clock in and out daily, provide students with a positive model for success. Professional dress is required.
Follow the directives of the Academic Support Coordinator to complete/maintain records on each student. Adhere to performance/integrity standards. To be eligible for rehire each term you must show growth on each term evaluation.

Helix Charter High School is a comprehensive high school, located in La Mesa, California, a suburb of San Diego.
