Job Summary :
The Elementary Custodian is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and organized environment for students, staff, and visitors. This position ensures the proper cleanliness of classrooms, hallways, restrooms, and other areas of the school, providing a healthy and conducive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities :
- Clean and sanitize classrooms, restrooms, hallways, office areas, and common spaces.
- Sweep, mop, vacuum, and polish floors as required.
- Empty trash bins and ensure proper disposal of waste.
- Replenish supplies such as toilet paper, soap, and paper towels in restrooms.
- Maintain and clean custodial equipment and supplies.
- Assist with setting up for school events, meetings, and assemblies.
- Report any maintenance or safety issues (e.g., leaks, broken fixtures) to the school administration.
- Clean windows, doors, and furniture.
- Assist in snow removal or outdoor cleaning when needed.
- Ensure proper safety procedures are followed while cleaning and using chemicals.
- Set up or move furniture and equipment as needed.
- Assist with the cleaning and preparation of school grounds.
