Responsibilities
- Design and deliver high-quality, differentiated English Language Arts instruction that aligns with the district's curriculum and standards.
- Foster a classroom environment that encourages creativity, collaboration, and independent thinking.
- Assess student progress regularly through a variety of formative and summative assessments, and adjust instruction as needed to meet individual student needs.
- Implement effective classroom management strategies to maintain a positive and respectful learning environment.
- Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress and needs.
- Collaborate with fellow teachers, administrators, and staff to develop and refine instructional practices.
- Incorporate technology into daily lessons to support student learning and engagement.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in literacy instruction and technology integration.
- Maintain accurate records of student performance and progress.
- Bachelor's degree in Education, English, or a related field.
- Valid teaching certification in LA for Elementary Education or enrollment in an approved alternative certification program.
- Proven experience teaching English Language Arts to elementary-aged students (preferred).
- Strong knowledge of literacy development, including phonics, reading comprehension, writing, and grammar.
- Experience with or openness to integrating technology into the classroom, including educational software, digital tools, and online learning platforms.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to differentiate instruction for students with diverse learning needs.
- Passion for fostering a love of reading and writing in young learners.
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, students, and families.
- Experience with digital learning platforms (e.g., Google Classroom, Seesaw, etc.).
- Familiarity with using interactive whiteboards, tablets, and other tech tools to enhance learning.
- Willingness to learn new technologies and innovate in the classroom to improve student outcomes.
