Position Overview
The Physical Science Teacher will be responsible for teaching physical science courses to students, fostering an engaging and positive learning environment, and helping students develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills. This role requires a strong understanding of physical science concepts, effective classroom management skills, and a dedication to student success.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach physical science courses, including topics in physics, chemistry, and basic scientific principles.
- Develop and implement lesson plans that align with state curriculum standards and foster student engagement.
- Use a variety of teaching methods, including hands-on experiments, demonstrations, and technology, to enhance students' learning experiences.
- Assess student performance regularly through quizzes, tests, projects, and class participation, providing timely and constructive feedback.
- Create a safe and supportive classroom environment where students feel encouraged to ask questions, take risks, and grow.
- Collaborate with colleagues to plan interdisciplinary projects and initiatives that promote STEM education.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress, attendance, and grades in accordance with school policies.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school administrators regarding academic progress, behavior, and any other concerns.
- Participate in school-wide events, professional development opportunities, and meetings as required.
- Ensure all safety protocols are followed during lab activities and experiments.
